KUANTAN: Residents here can not only relay complaints to the Kuantan Municipal Council’s (MPK) dedicated handphone number but also upload photographs.
MPK public relations officer Izad Zainal Muhammad Safian said the number 013-3803660 had streamlined the complaint-registration and problem-solving processes.
“This makes it easier for MPK to get full details and identify the problem through the pictures.”
He said the system was effective as the council could zero in on the details and location of the problem.
Izad said that even if the complainant sent only a photograph of the problem, the council would contact the complainant to get details about it.
Kempadang Village Security and Development Committee member Saaban Awang, 57, welcomed the number as it would make it easier for residents to give a clearer picture of problems.
“The smartphone (hotline) number is more convenient to use compared with the fixed hotline number.”
Eddin Johari, 47, of Sungai Lembing, Kuantan, said the smartphone hotline number was an effective way for residents to make detailed complaints to MPK.
He said an example of when the smartphone number would prove helpful would be when
residents took pictures of trash bins overflowing with trash, typed the complaint in
the caption underneath the pictures and send them to the number.
