Residents in Pasir Pinji, Ipoh, are unhappy over an illegal dumpsite by the main road run by a scrap dealer.
Local resident Foo Hua Bin said the Ipoh City Council (MBI) had issued notices in the past to no avail.
"We hope the city council will take stronger action on this matter.
"The dumpsite is an eyesore and attracts pests and mosquitoes bringing all kinds of diseases,” he said.
He said illegal dumping was a problem MBI should take seriously.
An MBI spokesman said action would be taken against the scrap dealer if he was found to have infringed any local bylaws.
“Those who purposefully leave waste on private or public land will be fined,” he said.
He added that any properties wrongfully stored on public land that was not removed, despite notices from the council, might be confiscated.
