KUALA LUMPUR: Dataprep Holdings Bhd’s shares slumped 11.94 per cent or four sen to 30 sen in active early trade on takeover offer by Wardah Communication owner Tan Sri Muhammad Ikmal Opat Abdullah.

Dataprep yesterday received a takeover bid from Ikmal after he bought 270.54 million shares or a 64.2 per cent stake at 16 sen each from controlling shareholder VXL Holdings Sdn Bhd.

VXL is owned by Datuk Lim Chee Wah, one of the sons of the late Genting group founder Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong.

Ikmal offered to buy the remaining shares he has not already owned in Dataprep at a 58.97 per cent discount to the last trading price of 39 sen prior to the offer.
