EUROTECH Wheels Distribution Sdn Bhd/KTM Malaysia unveiled their latest 2017 models at a gala launch in The Royale Bintang Hotel, The Curve recently.

Both are updated versions of the outgoing models with more upgrades.

The new 2017 1290 SuperDuke R is given a styling boost with new tank spoilers, new LED headlight and a sharper rear end. The electronics now incorporate a keyless transponder key, cruise control and new multifunctional TFT display.

Suspension is further refined with a split USD fork utilising harder spring rates and separate damping circuits.

Likewise, the rear WP monoshock has a harder spring and wholly revised to optimise high speed composure. Power output of the updated LC8 V-twin is now 177 hp.

The SuperDuke R has been upgraded to ‘The Beast 2.0’.

The 2017 1290 SuperAdventure S too has new styling upgrades with a new LED headlight with daytime LED running lights. It also comes with the same keyless system dubbed KTM RACE ON. A useful waterproof mobile phone compartment (with a USB port) is incorporated into the dash. The new multifunction TFT display is now 6.5-inch wide with an illuminated menu switch. A new floating luggage system graces the rear of the bike. The highly revised engined offers a more refined power delivery although the power output remains at 160hp. Both bikes come with ‘option packs’. The SuperAdventure S has the ‘Travel Pack’ incorporating ‘Hill Hold Control’, ‘Motor Slip Regulation’ (MSR), Quickshifter+ and KTM MyRide (a hands-free kit and audio player). The SuperDuke R comes with the ‘Performance Pack’ which includes MSR, Quickshifter+ and KTM My Ride. The ‘Track Pack’ comes with a ‘Track’ mode (anti-wheelie off, MTC slip adjust and launch control).The retail price for the SuperAdventure S is RM115,000.00 while the SuperDuke R goes for RM118,000.00 inclusive of GST but not inclusive of roadtax or insurance.
