LEXUS Malaysia, a division of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd, has launched the all-new Lexus LC 500 for the Malaysian market.

“The all-new Lexus LC 500 is the latest model to join the Lexus range in Malaysia, for a total of nine models now. Unveiled at the beginning of the year, the LC 500 has amazed the world with its design and advanced technical features that give it the supercar performance,” said UMW Toyota Motor president Ravindran Kurusamy during the launching ceremony recently.

He said the company expected to sell around 10 units this year.

The new flagship luxury coupe of the Lexus model range is a significant illustration of its dedication to create cars with exciting emotional designs and exhilarating performance.

The LC takes its place as the flagship model of the high-performance Lexus range, alongside the LS, which is the flagship of the sedan range.

Inspired by the LF-LC concept car displayed in 2012, development of the LC was inspired and guided by Toyota Motor Corp president Akio Toyoda, who also personally tested the prototypes.

The Lexus LC 500 variant comes with a 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine that generates maximum power of 464hp and 540Nm of torque.

It is mated to a newly-developed close-ratio direct shift 10-speed automatic transmission.

According to Lexus, the LC 500 can complete the century sprint in 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 270kph.

It comes with leather upholstery, heated and ventilated power leather seats, leather steering, 10.3-inch electro multi vision display panel, 21-inch aluminium wheels, Lexus multimedia infotainment system, dash-mounted touchscreen display, 13-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, dual-zone climate control, ambient lights and remote touch controller.

Lexus integrates advanced technology in all its vehicles, with a focus on enhancing ease of use, comfort, and driving pleasure.

The company also adopted a new platform known as the GA-L (Global Architecture - Luxury). This platform also forms the foundation for the latest generation of the LS sedan.

The platform is designed to provide a high degree of product development freedom so it can be used for coming generations of front engine/rear-wheel drive Lexus models.

The LC 500 comes with a RM940,000 price tag, inclusive of the six per cent Goods and Services Tax but excluding insurance.

It is available in 11 exterior colours and three interior themes. It comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and free scheduled servicing for the first five years or 100,000km (which ever comes first).
