BEADS of sweat trickle down his face. His red and white taxi, its hood up, is parked by the roadside along Jalan Pandah Indah 3/3, Kuala Lumpur. It’s high noon and the sun is not getting any kinder. Mumbling under his breath in frustration, the man checks the engine again and prods at the battery helplessly. Several minutes have passed and he’s still unable to locate the source of the sudden breakdown. To make matters worse, he has yet to get a passenger since leaving his house that morning. And now with this, it looks like he’s just going to return home empty.
