ISKANDAR PUTERI: An Indonesian man was left injured this morning when his colleague attacked him with a knife for playing video games too loudly.

The victim, in his 20s, was playing a video game with his two friends at a workers’ hostel in Taman Nusa Bestari at 7am, just before the attack occurred.

A fellow worker, 39 was sleeping in the next room and became annoyed by the noise. The constant din eventually caused him to fly into a rage.

The man, who is a Malaysian, barged into the room, brandished a pen knife and proceeded to stab and slash the victim.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Hashim Mohamad said the attack left the victim with a 4cm cut behind his left ear and wounded on his left arm.

His two friends were stunned, but unharmed.

The victim was rushed to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital for treatment.

Noor Hashim said a police team arrived at the hostel 30 minutes after the attack and took the suspect into custody.

“The suspect, who works in a computer shop, has no criminal record. He tested negative for drug use."

He said the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
