KUALA LUMPUR: An Umno Supreme Council member today claimed that DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang has many tricks up his sleeves to deceive his allies in Pakatan Harapan (PH).

Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi said that one of Lim’s tricks is his continuous denials that he wanted to be the prime minister, should the opposition win the 14th General Election (GE14).

“Lim has been very angry with the media for saying that he aspires to become the next prime minster.

“Lim claimed that he had never made an open statement that he is eyeing for the post, despite being in the politics for 52 years,” he said in a statement.

Puad said Lim was happy when PH chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed dismissed talks that DAP will claim the post.

“Whatever the denials and whoever denies it, no one will believe it

“The same goes with DAP which claims it is a democratic party, mainly due to its name Democratic Action Party.

“But, do people believe that DAP is a democratic party when its central executive committee (CEC) election was not recognised by the Registrar of Societies?”

Puad said DAP is being dominated by the Lim’s dynasty, where Lim himself has been in power for almost 52 years.

He said just like what former DAP national vice-chairman, Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim had said, “DAP is as democratic as North Korea”.

Lim was able to last for as long because the party’s electoral system is not very democratic.

“He used the ‘UBAH’ slogan during the 13th General Election, but will the people believe in this empty slogan again?

“See what DAP has done to Penang. Its chief minister, Lim Guan Eng was charged for corruption. Cronyism takes place is many mega projects, one of the exco members was linked with an illegal plant issue and more.

“Therefore, the proverb ‘we cannot judge a book by its cover’ suits Lim best.”
