KUALA LUMPUR: Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) will be facing three groups of voters in the coming general elections said Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
He said the first group comprises party members who carries out their responsibility and vote for Umno.
"The second group comprises those who vote for the opposition. The third group of people are those who are on the fence. It is important that we approach them and win their hearts as they are the persuadable voters," he said while delivering the policy speech at the Umno General Assembly.
He said the votes from third group would have a significant effect for BN.
"Any effort to persuade them must be the main agenda of various campaigns.
"I listened to the speeches by vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the wing chiefs. I can conclude that they succeeded in touching on the issues and main challenges in preparing for the general elections.
"I can also conclude that the wings understand the hidden objectives and missions of this assembly," he said.
