BA of Malaysia (BAM) technical director Morten Frost should not have made any decision concerning national No 1 doubles pair Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong ahead of the Coaching and Training Committee (C&T).
Frost recently confirmed that the pair will be split, despite the national body deciding at the Glasgow World Championships and KL Sea Games post mortem meeting that it would only be decided after the C&T meeting on Monday.
BAM president Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria, however, said it could have only been Frost's view as he and national doubles head coach Cheah Soon Kit had been given the responsibility of finding a solution to the pair's dip in form and presenting it to the C&T.
"As we had decided during the post mortem, Frost and Soon Kit had been given the task of studying and finding a solution for the pair," said Norza, when met at the Iskandar Puteri Triathlon Challenge press conference in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
“What Frost said could have been his own opinion but the final decision on whether to split them will only be made by the C&T.
Norza, who is also the C&T chairman, assured that the situation will be assessed from all angles before a decision is made.
"I want full commitment from all including the players, coaches and the technical director. What we decide after the C&T meeting will be based on an in depth assement."
