The closing ceremony of the SEA Games will be held on August 30, instead of the proposed Aug 31. Pix by YAZIT RAZALI.

KUALA LUMPUR: The SEA Games closing ceremony will be held on August 30, a day earlier than the original proposed date.

This was confirmed by Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin after the SEA Games Management Meeting in Putrajaya.

The shift in dates was due to the Hari Raya Haji celebration, which falls on September 1.

However, Khairy gave his assurance that the date change would not cause further problems as they have a buffer of 10 to 11 days.
