KUALA LUMPUR: Out of respect for the founder of the National Former Silat Exponents Association (PBPN), Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin, Zakri Ibrahim has come out by saying that he is ready to accept the proposal to come to the discussion table.
Zakri stressed that he is open to discussion to resolve the internal strife involving himself and two PBPN committee members.
He was answering the call by the Malaysian National Silat Federation (Pesaka) as to preparedness to come to the discussion table so that the problems and issues can be resolved amicably.
“I am willing and open to discussion as per the suggestion made by Datuk Megat. I accept because I have the utmost respect for him, and silat exponents and practitioners can see and learn about solidarity.
“So thank you, as I need complete justice and fairness especially from those who are neutral, and this has nothing to do with any other party or side,” stressed Zakri when contacted earlier today.
Speaking further, the former gold medalist from the 2000 Jakarta World Silat Championship said he has relayed his intentions to the PBPN secretary-general, Sabnam Mokhtar earlier today as well.
On Monday, the former world champion made a police report at the Dang Wangi police station against two individuals from PBPN who accused him of cheating.
He explained that the purpose of lodging the police report was to clear his name and restore his tainted reputation, and he has given a period of fourteen days for a public apology to be made, or proove that he cheated.
If not then he has no qualms to file a summons in court.
However, the two PBPN committee members implicated, Haslina Shaharuddin and Norfizah Othman have declined to make any comments and will instead wait for the end of the fourteen day period.
