KUALA LUMPUR: Diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri failed to win a medal in the women’s 3m springboard individual final at the Beijing leg of the World Series on Saturday.

The 19-year-old recorded a five-dive total of 306.00 points to finish sixth.

China’s Shi Tingmao posted a 392.10 total for the gold medal while compatriot Wang Han took second on 380.40. Canadian Jennifer Abel grabbed the bronze with a 354.50 series.

Earlier, Dhabitah, who will compete in next month’s Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, finished second in the semi-finals with 318.20 points.

All eyes will be on reigning world champion Cheong Jun Hoong when she competes in the women’s 10m platform individual event with Pandelela Rinong on Sunday.

It will be her first try in the event since winning the gold medal at last year’s World Championships in Budapest.

The diver, however, has no expectations going into the event as her only goal is to do decently.

“I would be happy if I can perform well. Of course, a medal will be a good start for me to the season,” said Jun Hoong.

On Friday, Jun Hoong partnered Pandelela Rinong for the silver medal in the platform synchro event.
